One and Two Year Overseas Volunteer Opportunities
VMM has been sending volunteers since 1969 and currently have people in nine different African countries. Many overseas volunteer posts are available throughout the year. Our overseas partners have identified immediate and long term community capacity building needs that require experienced personnel. Posts require skills and experience linked to development, health, education, IT, accounting, community development, social services. Assignments are usually for one or two years during which time VMM provides training, volunteer allowances and support.

Short Term Volunteer Programme Pilot
Following a strategic review of the existing VMM programme, we are launching an exciting new programme allowing volunteers to contribute overseas for a shorter period of time.
This is a pilot initiative which will allow volunteers of all ages to work directly alongside local VMM volunteers and coordinators for 3-6 weeks in a developing country on projects to assist underprivileged communities in various countries in Africa. Involvement will contribute to development in the overseas host community, as well as broaden the horizons and motivate those involved for continued concern and commitment to support global justice and development issues. A variety of projects will focus on those aged 18-25, but also on specialized projects for those with more experience.
VMM has more than 30 partners in Africa who can assist with the development of short term projects. All project partners have proven good practice in development work with strategic plans, child safeguarding and financial policies in place. The new short term programmes that VMM (International Volunteer Project) has developed are with many of the same partners we have established links with over the past decades.
